Why turnips?

The may turnip has a fresh, slightly sweet flavour that makes it ideal for salads, oven‑roasted dishes, or as a crisp side. It is low in calories but rich in fibre and vitamin C – a healthy and delicious way to welcome spring.

Did you know?

-The may turnip is one of the oldest vegetables in Denmark and was eaten long before the potato arrived in the country.
-It can be eaten both raw and cooked – raw for crunch, cooked it becomes soft and mild.
-The may turnip belongs to the cabbage family and therefore has a delicate, lightly peppery flavour.
-It is one of the most climate‑friendly vegetables, as it grows quickly and requires few resources.

Join our communal dining event at Spinderihallerne’s Café and experience how the may turnip can be transformed into exciting dishes that surprise and inspire.
