ÅRETS KUNSTNERTRYK 2026

 

Spinderihallerne præsenterer Årets Kunstnertryk 2026 af Andy Gensø med værket Kvadratiske tanker. Det er 2. gang at Spinderihallerne præsenterer Årets Kunstnertryk skabt af kunstnere fra hallernes spirende kunstnermiljø.

Andy Gensø er maler og har med penslen frembragt en original og personlig fortælling om Spinderihallerne. Med klare farver positionerer han Fællesskabet, Iværksætteriet og Kunsten med kvadratiske kuber, der genkendes som signatur fra hallernes højtakket industritage. Den ikoniske, mintgrønne søjle bærer værket fra bund til top og signalerer en begyndelse – en spire - med bogstavet A. Søjlerne er ikoniske og bærer hallerne fra gulv til loft som benspænd, omveje og pejlemærker. Med præcision skaber Gensø en kontakt mellem værk og beskuer, der inviterer til fællesskab med kunsten som omdrejningspunkt.

For Spinderihallerne starter kunstens historie flere årtier tilbage. Vejle var tidligere foregangsby og landets ubestridte centrum inden for bomuldsspinderi, men i 1969 lider industrien åndenød og hallerne i vestbyen sælges til Vejle Kommune.  I 1994 bliver foreningen Spinderihallerne etableret med henblik på at skabe en arbejdsplads for professionelle kunstnere. I en årrække arbejder 8-10 kunstnere på skift med produktionsværksteder fordelt i hallerne.  Efter ti år inviteres iværksættere til at blive en del af miljøet og i 2010 bliver Spinderihallerne officielt indviet som et innovationsmiljø for iværksættere og spirende kunstnere.

 

Årets Kunstnertryk 2026 er skabt til Spinderihallerne. Orignalværket og plakaten finder du ved siden af receptionen.

ARTIST PRINT OF THE YEAR 2026

Spinderihallerne presents the Artist Print of the Year 2026 by Andy Gensø with the work Square Thoughts. This is the second time Spinderihallerne presents the Artist Print of the Year created by artists from the halls’ growing artistic community.

Andy Gensø is a painter who, with his brush, has created an original and personal narrative about Spinderihallerne. Using clear colours, he positions Community, Entrepreneurship and Art through square cubes, recognised as a signature element from the halls’ sawtooth industrial roofs. The iconic mint‑green column carries the work from bottom to top and signals a beginning – a sprout – with the letter A. The columns are iconic and support the halls from floor to ceiling as obstacles, detours and points of orientation. With great precision, Gensø creates a connection between the work and the viewer, inviting them into a shared experience with art at its centre.

For Spinderihallerne, the history of art began several decades ago. Vejle was once a pioneering city and the country’s undisputed industrial centre for cotton spinning, but in 1969 the industry began to falter, and the halls in the western part of the city were sold to Vejle Municipality. In 1994, the association Spinderihallerne was established with the aim of creating a workplace for professional artists. For several years, at any given point in time, 8–10 artists worked in rotation in studios spread across the halls. After ten years, entrepreneurs were invited to join the environment, and in 2010 Spinderihallerne was officially inaugurated as an innovation hub for entrepreneurs and emerging artists.

The Artist Print of the Year 2026 is created for Spinderihallerne. A warm thank you to the artist and to Nommet for their support and printing.
