Plastik For Evigt

Plastik findes – på godt og ondt. Udstillingen Plastik for Evigt handler mest om det første. 
For, hvad nu hvis vi kunne lære at elske plastik?
Dét vi elsker, passer vi på, og dét vi passer på, skifter vi ikke bare ud med noget nyt.

Plastik For Evigt handler om glæden ved materialer og omsorg for tingene. Udstillingen vil ikke løse problemer, men gennem en gruppe udvalgte kunstneres øjne få os til at se det, der allerede er på nye måder i poesiens, respektens og humorens overbærende lys.

En del af udstillingen er en hyldest til fem plastik-klassikere: Margretheskålen, Ikeaposen, den allestedsnærværende hvide plastikstol, legoklodsen og crocs.

Når alt det gode er sagt, så ved vi godt, at verden ikke har brug for mere plastik. Derfor indeholder Plastik For Evigt et bio-spor med nye alternative materialer, som Spinderihallernes BioTech Lab har groet og eksperimenteret med – nogle af dem kunne være fremtidens nedbrydelige plastik.

Fra udstillingen leder tre ruter ud til møde- og arbejdslokaler med mere permanent plastikkunst. Lokalerne vil være tilgængelige når døren står åben og der ikke er mødegæster.

• Lyserød rute: Mødelokalet ”Arkivet” med plastikkunst og -design af Maria Viftrup
• Blå rute: Mødelokale ”Bomuldsloftet” med plastik-kunst af Yufan Wang og Rena Shumylo på 1. sal
• Grøn rute: Mødelokale ”Magasinet” med nye alternative materialer v/ BioTechLab Spinderihallerne.

Som yderligere inspiration til en mere omsorgsfuld omgang med tingene, inviterer vi i udstillingsperioden til en række kreative og sjove workshops med kunstnere og designere, der vil inspirere os til, hvordan vi up-cycler, genbruger og reparerer vores plastik-ting. Plastic Forever

Plastic is here — for better or worse. This exhibition, Plastic Forever, focuses mainly on the former.
Because what if we could learn to love plastic?
When we love something, we take care of it — and what we care for, we don’t just replace with something new.

Plastic Forever is about the joy of materials and a sense of care for objects. It doesn’t aim to solve problems, but instead invites us — through the eyes of a group of invited artists — to see what already exists in a new light: one of poetry, respect, and gentle humour.
Part of the exhibition pays tribute to five plastic icons: the Margrethe bowl, the IKEA bag, the ubiquitous white plastic chair, the LEGO brick, and Crocs.

That said, we know the world doesn’t need more plastic. That’s why Plastic Forever also includes a bio-track, showcasing new alternative materials cultivated and experimented with by Spinderihallerne’s BioTechLab — some of which could represent the biodegradable plastics of the future.

From the exhibition, three routes lead to meeting and working rooms featuring more permanent plastic artworks. These rooms are accessible when the doors are open and not in use for meetings.

• Green Route: Meeting room Magasinet, featuring new alternative materials by BioTechLab Spinderihallerne

As further inspiration for a more caring relationship with our things, we are hosting a series of creative and playful workshops during the exhibition period. Artists and designers will guide us in how to upcycle, reuse, and repair our plastic objects — taking the five classics as a starting point.
